Matt Cowden writes from his home in Western Pennsylvania. He is a stay-at-home dad that enjoys writing novels and screenplays. He enjoys taking care of his children while working on his career as an author. When he is not telling stories, he spends his time with his wife, Sarah, and their two children.

The inspiration for Emma McDougal came when he was researching some ideas for a historical novel, and bought a new set of the Narnia books for the family.

He loved these books since he was in grade school, and his daughter watched the cartoon version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and became fascinated by it.

While Izzy, his daughter, played with her toys in her sandbox, he decided to outline the first draft of Emma. Izzy inspired some of the names and creatures, and it became a special experience for the both of them. She loves Emma as much, if not more, than Matt does.

Emma McDougal and the Quest for Father Time is Matt’s first published novel.

Matt is very busy writing the second adventure of Emma and her friends, Emma McDougal and the Search for Old Saint Nick.
